Da island mon…

Coronado Hotel “Hey mon, you gunna get away to da island?”… a few minutes from downtown San Diego lies Coronado Island. You can take the ferry from the Embarcadero (Broadway and Harbor Drive), or some of the hotels offer water taxis across to the Island, or just drive over the Coronado Bridge.

The Island is one of our favorite “walk around” spots in San Diego, and we usually start at the Landing (ferry drop off point) and walk to the Del Coronado Hotel along the bay walkway. And then to change up the scenery, we walk through town and stop off at some of the shops and eateries (to replace lost calories).

If walking is not your thing, there are bikes for rent at the Landing, or just take one of the hop on/off tours of the island and, “Relax mon… on da Island.”

Here are a few photos of our island walk.
