A New Arrival at Our House

The Times are a Changing… for the Better

“What to name your new car?” is probably not a thought in most new car buyers’ heads.

Welcome to the world of Elon Musk and Tesla Motors. Of course, you would want to name your new Tesla and connect it to the Internet and teach it all of your personal preferences.

Day one of a new red Tesla Model 3, All Wheel Drive ownership was an experience that was not like previous new car purchases. The car had been ordered on-line, and the only contact with Tesla was their web site, my bank, and the occasional e-mail to confirm how the process moving along from Godofredo, my go-to guy. Since I had selected a model that was in inventory, the process went very fast – about a week start to finish. Some Tesla buyers wait up to a month for their car to be built and delivered. Or, in the case of the CyberTruck, over a year for the first deliveries.

Fortunately, my son, a Tesla owner, was my guide through the ordering and delivery process, but for the sonless souls, I think Tesla would have provided enough guidance to get anyone through the process.

I was familiar with my son’s Model 3, so the Tesla the experience was not a new one. All I can say is that it is not like anything else… period. No description of driving a Tesla does it justice. It is a new traveling experience. The visuals from the sky roof to navigational aids are a better way to travel… safer, smarter, and just plain fun. Quiet, smooth, and comfortable also come to mind.

And I think my smart phone is in love. The Tesla and my smart phone had an immediate attraction, and then it was more. They were finishing each other’s thoughts and sensing each other’s presence (through Bluetooth). Of course, I could sense their connect and just stepped out of their way and enjoyed this wonderful partnership. My smart phone got really smart working with the Tesla – opening doors, adjusting my seat and mirror, playing my favorite music, and other things mere mortals had to do manually.

But enough raving over our new addition to the family. We have named our Tesla, “Anoosh”, which is “sweet” in Armenian. Children and loved ones are often referred to as, “Anoosh.”

Well Anoosh is busy downloading some new updates from the Internet, and we humans need to eat lunch. If you would like to share any of your Tesla thoughts, please feel free to contact me through the “E-mail Me” tag on the upper right of the page.

And if you decide to follow my lead and get a Tesla, please feel free to use my referral link ( We both get 1,000 free supercharger miles ): https://ts.la/david14802
