Through the Adriatic Sea

Our voyage (10 August 2021) was one of the ships of the Viking Ocean Cruising Line to return to service, and ALL of the safety protocols were observed, from PRC testing prior to boarding the aircraft to check-in medical review in Malta to electronic proximity for contact control. Masks were worn in public places and social distancing was also observed. In other words, we were safe, as you could be.

With a start in Malta, we had a whole day of sight-seeing, and we combined them with our second visit to the island… see for yourselves.

After a day at sea, we arrive in Kotor, Montenegro of a day mountain roads, beautiful sights, small towns, and a historic sight or two.

On to Dubrovnik, Croatia! Ancient castles, history-filled cities, and not to forget, tasty food surrounded us. It was like stepping back in time with all the modern conveniences.

Split, Croatia was an amazing city with Roman palaces and fine art museums. It was a lot to take in over a single day… we must return!

Zadar, Croatia was a wonderful treat of a wildlife preserve, mountain-top retreat, and more. We definitely need to come back.

Sibenik, Coatia, with an ancient Roman retreat, more wildlife, and wonderful local snacks… and, of course, the beautiful countryside.

And the island of Gozo (smaller cousin of Malta) was our final touring stop, visiting temples older than the pyramids of Egypt.

Then for us, it was back to Valletta, Malta… and it was off to another Viking cruise of the Aegean.
