Panama City and San Diego now sisters!

_DSC9419Well now it is official… Panama City and San Diego are sister cities. Both cities have been tied together with over one hundred years of shared histories, but now with a sister city agreement, the twins have made it official.

San Diego is home to one of the largest Panamanian populations in the US, and is the first port of call of ships coming up the West Coast from the Panama Canal. And the world exposition that “put San Diego on the map” as a world class city was all about the Panama Canal in 1915.

It was a day of shared memories and hopes for both populations… a brighter future for two sunny locations.
